Pipedrive's core is the deal pipeline. Its features page lists much more around it, including an AI email writer and Nova, its meeting intelligence. Lead generation, web visitor tracking and email marketing come as add-ons: LeadBooster, Web Visitors and Campaigns. If the work you most need help with is finding contacts, running outreach or cutting manual pipeline work, you can add those to Pipedrive, or pick a tool built around them.
This list covers nine tools of the second kind, grouped by what you need. JRNY is one of them, because we make it.
Transparency note: JRNY is built by BetterQA, a software testing company in Cluj-Napoca. We describe the other tools from their own websites, read in October 2026, and leave prices out because they change often.
Check the add-ons before you migrate
Pipedrive has a customisable visual pipeline, workflow automation, a sales inbox with two-way email sync, AI features and 500+ integrations in its marketplace, plus the add-ons above. If what you miss is one capability, compare the add-on with a switch. Moving CRMs takes real time, whichever tool you pick. The JRNY vs Pipedrive comparison sets the two side by side.
If you want help finding and enriching contacts
Apollo.io
Apollo describes itself as "one connected GTM system": a database of B2B contacts and companies, outreach from its workspace, and deal management. With Apollo Anywhere you can also work from inside the CRM you already have, and its site lists 200+ integrations.
Fits: a team whose real bottleneck is finding the right people to contact, and that wants the contact data and the outreach in one place. See the JRNY vs Apollo comparison.
Attio
Attio enriches every record automatically, syncs your inbox and calendar, and runs workflows across the sales process, on a data model you can structure yourself.
Fits: a startup that wants a CRM which fills in company and contact detail for you and is happy to configure it.
folk
folk offers contact enrichment, messages and sequences, and pipeline management in one product, with dedicated support for working with LinkedIn contacts.
Fits: a small team that sells through relationships and wants enrichment and sequences without a separate outreach tool. See the JRNY vs folk comparison.
If you want outreach to run alongside the pipeline
lemlist
lemlist is an outbound platform rather than a CRM. It runs multichannel campaigns (email, LinkedIn and calls among them) from one sequence, includes a searchable lead database, and has its own email warm-up and deliverability tool, lemwarm.
Fits: a team that sends cold outreach at volume and is happy to keep a CRM for the deals that come out of it. See the JRNY vs lemlist comparison.
Close
Close says calling, email, SMS, automation and AI are built into the CRM. Its workflows can send the first email and the follow-ups, and a Smart View can work through a call list for you.
Fits: a team that wants dialing and follow-up inside the CRM rather than in an add-on. See the JRNY vs Close comparison.
HubSpot
HubSpot adds Marketing Hub and Service Hub to its CRM, with a free CRM to start from and more than 2,000 app integrations.
Fits: a team whose leads come from inbound marketing and that wants marketing and sales in one place. See the JRNY vs HubSpot comparison.
If you want less manual pipeline work
Zoho CRM
Zoho's pitch for automation is "advanced workflows, cadences, and no-code functions", with its AI, Zia, offered as agents inside the CRM. It is one of the more configurable tools on this list.
Fits: a team that wants to automate the repetitive steps around each deal and has someone who will build those rules. See the JRNY vs Zoho CRM comparison.
monday CRM
monday CRM's angle is that you build the automations yourself, without code, on the same boards you use for the rest of your work, and that email campaigns go out from the CRM.
Fits: a team that already runs its projects in monday.com and wants the hand-off from sale to delivery on the same boards.
JRNY
JRNY cuts the typing rather than the clicking. It starts from the spreadsheet you already have and takes on the written side of follow-up:
- Import from an .xlsx file, with handling for duplicates, so your list is in on the first day.
- A meeting notes parser: paste rough notes and it pulls out contact details, timeline, budget, urgency and a fit score, so nobody retypes them.
- AI drafts for emails, replies and follow-ups from the record, on your own OpenRouter API key. You pay OpenRouter directly for that usage.
- Gmail connection: send from JRNY and keep the sent mail on the company record.
- Email campaigns where every AI draft waits in an approval queue until a person approves it. They turn on when you connect Gmail.
- A warning before you email the same company twice.
- Company and contact records, with pipeline statuses Pre, Hot, Cold, Signed and Closed.
JRNY does not find contacts for you, and its pipeline is a fixed set of five statuses rather than stages you design. If a configurable deal board is what you rely on in Pipedrive, you would be giving that up. It is free for the first year, on one plan.
Fits: a small team that already has its target list and wants help with the drafting and note-taking, with a person signing off every campaign email.
How to choose
- You need more contacts to work. Apollo, or a CRM that enriches records: Attio or folk.
- You need outreach at volume. lemlist, next to a CRM.
- You want calling and follow-up in the CRM itself. Close.
- You want inbound marketing too. HubSpot.
- You want the CRM to do more of the routine work. Zoho CRM or monday CRM for rules you build; JRNY for imported lists, parsed notes and drafted emails.
Test the shortlist on a real part of your own list, not on sample data.
If you are coming from the other direction, our list of HubSpot alternatives is for teams that want less software, not more.
